Bullied Bus Monitor

If you haven’t seen this video it’s shocking to watch.

So after watching this video and chatting with friends about it I am;

1. mortified at what was said
2. wondering how well she protected the other kids on the bus when she wasn’t able to stand up for herself
3. saddened by the lynch mob that have attacked these kids and their families
4. questioning why didn’t the bus driver say or do anything

Please note I am not defending these kids in any way but I also now that we all do things that we are later ashamed of and even more so when we are kids. The difference is that our indiscretions were not videoed and posted all over the internet. Believe me I know that standing up for yourself is hard at times, but she is in a position of authority she should have been able too. If my child was on that bus I’d have serious questions.

As for the money raised why isn’t the initial $5,000 being given to her in the form of a trip as it was initially planned? It’s great that she can retire now but wouldn’t it help more if that much money was put into a program for the community that the children, because lets face it that is what they are, that bullied her have to participate in.

Of course these are just my thoughts and yes sometimes I should keep them to myself  however I have a hard time when people that are protecting children don’t seem capable of doing their job.

I’m curious what are your thoughts on this whole issue.
