Social Capital Conference #socapott

Last year I was lucky enough to be asked to photograph #socapott with Sarah McConnell and let me just say this I learnt a ton about blogging and social media.

Social Capital Conference is an amazing conference to attend. The one thing that I loved is that they had different streams depending on where you were with social media and blogging.

This year I’ll be back to photograph and sponsor SocappOtt and I couldn’t be more pleased to have been asked.  The speakers (Annie @Phd in Parenting, Dean Emerick, Heather Greenwood Davis, Kelly Rusk, and Martin Waxman just to name a few) this year are just as incredible as last year as well.

~~~
I will also have a place set up for those that would like to receive new headshot photos. The cost will be $40 and you will receive 4 photos (2 colour and 2 black & white) in med resolution. I will be there 1 hour before the conference starts, at lunch and breaks as well as 30 minutes after the conference ends.
~~~

Well if you haven’t bought your ticket yet (you need to get on this the conference isn’t far away) you’re in luck as I have one #SoCapOtt ticket to give away and as an added bonus you will also recieve a new headshot photo done by moi to use on your blog, twitter, facebook or where ever else you require a photo.

To enter all you need to do is tell me which speaker you are looking forward to hearing as well as what you would like to learn from Social Capital Conference. The contest closes on Monday July 9th at 11:59pm with the winner being announced on Wednesday July 11th. Winner will be chosen by random.org.

Good luck and I’ll see you at the conference.

  THE RESULTS ARE IN

congratulations on winning a ticket to Social Capital Conference.

Shawna Tregunna

I promise you that you will love the whole day. There are so many great speakers and great people in general that will be around for the day. Congratulations again.

See you on the 21st!

Cheers,
CL

Labelle Photo - I would be interested in hearing Carlo Lombard!

Heather - I would like to hear Annie from PhD in Parenting because i have been reading her website for SO long. Thanks for the chance!!

Rory M-G - Looking forward to hearing Heather Greenwood Davis speak, as I’m beginning the Journalism program in September at Algonquin College. Would like to hear her thoughts on the evolution of Journalism since she began her career, and how Social Media has played into it.

Cherie-Lynn Buchanan - Rory you will love listening to Heather as she has some great stories.

Cherie-Lynn Buchanan - Annie’s blog is also one of my favourites. My only problem is that I have to be careful going on it to read because I can loose hours going from one post to the next. Good luck

Cherie-Lynn Buchanan - I’m also looking forward to hearing him speak as I’ve never met him before. I keep hearing great things though. Good luck.

Janice Lewis - I look forward to hearing Brian Kent-Baas speak. As a Wedding Planner I would love to hear more about the Free Wedding Experiment.

I would like to learn more about marketing my services via social media and I think this conference would be the perfect opportunity to do so.

Sue Roseman - I would love to hear Heather! As a teacher we shared her experiences and followed her adventures throughout the school year as part of classroom news and integrated her family experiences and adventures into our social studies programme. Lots of discussion and interest amongst the students.

Katy Watts - I’ve been using social media for what seems like a long time but there seems to be so much I don’t know. I’m looking forward to hearing Annie, Joe, Lara and Karen speak and I’ll be taking some serious notes!

Ali Goldfield - While I’m especially looking forward to hearing Lara and Karen speak, I’m truly looking forward to making some great Social Media contacts in the Ottawa area. One of my revelations this year is that while social media is a global phenomena, you can never ignore your local community and Ottawa has an awesome, inclusive social media community.

Shawna Tregunna - There are a lot of exciting speakers on that list! I am looking forward to Anthony Wong & Carlo Lombard!

Beccy David - I would really like to hear Tanya Snook speak. I am most looking forward to her because I currently juggle a professional life, with personal projects and a side ‘job’ re-working the media and aesthetic of a website within the animation community. I am myself a huge geek and would like the perspective of someone with similar interests who is more successful than I.

I have a lot of gut feelings about how social media should work and I would like to attend this conference to discuss those feelings with others and turn them into proper plans.

❀ Marci O'Connor ❀ - WOW, what a great contest AND an incredible lineup of speakers!! With the exception of Annie, I’m not sure I’ve heard any of these speakers before so you can’t make me choose, way too hard!! I just can’t wait to soak it all up, I heard so many incredible things about last years event!

Krista House - This is a tough one… all so many great speakers. Really. I would love to hear Heather Greenwood Davis speak. My husband and I dream about traveling the world with our three boys.

Diane Sawchuk - Looking forward to hearing Tanya Snook and Anthony Wong because I volunteer on a couple of fundraisers and non-profits. It’s getting tougher every year to raise funds for some really worthy causes (children and animals — our most vulnerable) and we really need to pull out all the stops and find the most creative ways we can to promote our fundraisers. So while I’m looking forward to all the speakers — it’s such an incredible lineup — I’ll be paying extra attention to these.

Sherrie Guthrie - I am most interested in hearing Heather speak, as my class and I have been following her adventures all year. My students connected with their challenges and adventures. They gained a wider perspective of the world thanks to Heather & her family.

Stephanie - I’m looking forward to hearing Algonquin PR grad Kelly Rusk speak (I am a current PR student and she has come to our class before), and learning about strategies and how to engage audiences. There are a lot of interesting topics and speakers, so it will be a great day!

Crystal Kirkpatrick - I’m interested in hearing Carlo Lombard and Dean Emerick as I just met Carlo at an event last month and he was very DYNAMIC!
I know there is something to be learned from everyone at the conference, speaker or attendee. Hope I’m randomly picked!

Heather - Wow! Sue I had no idea! That’s so awesome. Can’t wait to tell my boys. Thank You!

Heather - Thanks for mentioning me Cherie Lynn. I’m excited to share our story but even more excited to hear the other great speakers and with Kathy Buckworth moderating it’s bound to be a great time all around. Look forward to meeting everyone.

Meghna Shah - I am really looking forward to hearing Carlo Lombard and what he has to say about “delivering engaging content” as well as learning about how to better brand and sell yourself through social media.
